Student Affairs
The President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, met with members of the university's temporary Student Council for the academic year 2022-2023, as part of the university’s continuous communication with the students, listening to their problems and suggestions, and involving them in setting university plans.
The temporary student council included council president Omar Azmy Ali, vice president Mais Wael, secretary of the council Raghad Khater, and Yara Al-Siddiq, Abdul Rahman Al-Barraj, and Sarah Al-Ismail as representative members.
During the meeting, which was attended by Vice President Prof. Bassam Hammo, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Rami Salem, and Head of Student Services Ms. Iman Thoqan, Dr. Abu Elhaija welcomed the new members of the council, pointing out that the temporary council was formed until the next elections upon a recommendation from a committee assigned by the University Deans Council. Notably, the elections were previously suspended according to the procedures followed during the Corona pandemic. The students’ council has an important and effective role of representing fellow students, transferring the academic and service problems students face, and contributing to solving such problems.
Dr. Salem referred to the role of the council and the tasks entrusted to it and its partnership with the university administration, as the council is the liaison between the university administration and students who contribute to the process of excellence and development that the university adopts.
Dr. Salem stated that the Deanship of Student Affairs intends to hold the official elections of the student council for 2023/2024 in early March.
