Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, the President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed faculty members for the 2023/2024 academic year, a yearly event organized by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at the university.
To start the meeting, Prof. Abu Elhaija, the University's President, extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed professors. In her talk, Abu Elhaija highlighted the university's notable achievements and its outstanding performance on local, regional, and global levels. These accomplishments, Abu Elhaija emphasized, align closely with the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, the Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees. Her vision aims to transform the university as a global institution with a profound mission while maintaining its strong national identity and heritage.
Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized the significance of scientific research and its support mechanisms, highlighting the need to enhance it and publish in top-tier international journals. She particularly emphasized the importance of aligning teaching methods with the academic subject matter and students' needs.
Prof. Bassam Hammo, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, delivered a presentation outlining faculty-related regulations and guidelines, including matters such as leave, promotions, and support for scientific research. He emphasized clarifying the rights and responsibilities of faculty members.
The introductory meeting, spanning three days and led by expert professors, covered various essential topics. These included sustainable development goals and standards, scientific research and graduate studies services, admissions and registration procedures, education, e-learning, and the services provided by El Hassan Library.
