Princess Sumaya University for Technology has recently launched the Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) Program, an initiative led by the Deanship of Admission and Registration and under the umbrella of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship. As an incubator for entrepreneurial ideas, the program aims to empower students, faculty, and staff to develop their ideas and transform them into tangible ventures through emerging projects and startups. This program contributes to the development and enhancement of the entrepreneurial and innovative environment within the university.
The program aims to enrich entrepreneurial journey by hosting a successful and accomplished entrepreneur. It aims to strengthen competition and sustainability strategies for projects, fostering creativity, understanding the startup landscape, evaluating and analyzing current work processes, and develop these processes while innovating new technologies. Additionally, the program also aims to establish a network of relationships and collaboration with government and private institutions.
The EIR Program will also include workshops, courses, and meetings aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial skills. These activities will cover various aspects, including idea development, innovation, project management, marketing through the creation of business plans, as well as gaining financial and legal knowledge, and honing leadership skills.
It is noteworthy that the program is aligned with the university's priorities of preparing and nurturing a generation of young individuals capable of competing in the rapidly evolving world. This entails providing them with pioneering and creative thinking methodologies, engaging them in innovative activities, encouraging them to think in unconventional ways, and empowering them to discover innovative solutions to the challenges confronting their society.
