Princess Sumaya University for Technology and Al-Quds University (Abu Dis Campus) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the goal of strengthening collaboration in the fields of education and scientific research between the two universities.
The agreement was officially signed by PSUT's President, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, and Al-Quds University's President, Prof. Imad Abu Kishek. The signing took place in the presence of PSUT's Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Bassam Hammo, members of the University's Council of Deans, Mr. Yazan Abu Yaghi, the Director of the Finance Department, and Mrs. Nada Al Jaafari, Programs Manager at the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship. Representing Al-Quds University were Dr. Nael Al Halawa, Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. Hashem Dhuwaib, Director of Financial Affairs, and Mr. Ghassan Aldeek, Director of Said Khoury Information Technology Center.
The two parties shared ideas with the goal of boosting academic and research cooperation, including exchanging experiences in joint research projects, expanding student exchange opportunities, and working together to develop joint undergraduate and graduate programs.
Prof. Abu Elhaija, praised this cooperation as a significant step toward improving the region's higher education and scientific research quality, as well as working together to achieve common goals and expand academic and research cooperation.
Prof. Abu Elhaija affirmed the university's commitment to facilitating the necessary resources to bolster academic education and scientific research across all fields. This includes fostering partnerships at both regional and global levels and leveraging mutual expertise.
Prof. Abu Kishek, President of Al-Quds University, expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with Princess Sumaya University for Technology. He emphasized that PSUT serves as a notable example in computer science, engineering, and business technology. He highlighted that this partnership positively contributes to reinforcing a sense of Arab identity across various fields.
