The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), in collaboration with Princess Sumaya University for Technology, recently held a scientific awareness seminar on the Jordan nuclear program. The event took place on the university campus, during the Scientific Awareness Day for the Jordan nuclear program, organized by the Scientific Research Committee at King Abdullah II School of Engineering.
Attended by university officials, including President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, Vice President for Administrative Affairs Prof. Bassam Hammo, members of the University’s Council of Deans, and JAEC Board of Commissioners, the seminar aimed to introduce students and professors to the Jordan nuclear program and JAEC's various facilities, projects, and services.
During the seminar, JAEC Chairman Dr. Khaled Toukan delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Jordan nuclear program and the Uranium Project. He also discussed the role of the Jordan nuclear reactor in research, training, and its applications in medical and industrial sectors.
Dr. Toukan emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation with distinguished universities, highlighting its significance for the success of the Jordan nuclear program, particularly in applied and research areas.
Dr. Ahmad Al-Sabbagh, Secretary General of JAEC, also gave a presentation introducing JAEC's projects, facilities, and services.
Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija expressed gratitude for organizing the seminar, praising the effective cooperation between JAEC and Princess Sumaya University for Technology in increasing awareness of nuclear energy in Jordan and fostering future cooperation opportunities.
The seminar included an exhibition where JAEC's facilities and services were showcased. Additionally, videos were presented to demonstrate JAEC's activities and facilities.
