The Dean of Student Affairs at Princess Sumaya University of Technology, Dr. Rami Salem, participated in the ceremony held by the Crown Prince Foundation to conclude "I participate" program, which was implemented over three years in partnership with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and funded by USAID Agency.
Dr. Salem, received a trophy during the ceremony held by the Foundation in the presence of representatives of the National Democratic Institute, the American Agency for International Development, representatives of partner universities, and a number of young people who benefitted from the program. The ceremony also went over the achievements that have been made.
It is noteworthy that the "I participate" program is being implemented by the Crown Prince in 13 universities: Al-Hussein Technical University, Yarmouk University, JUST, Muta University, Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Balqa Applied University, Karak Community College, Hashemite University, Zarqa University, University of Jordan, and Princess Sumaya University for technology and GJU.
The participants in the program are intensively trained to enhance the concepts and values of democracy. They are, further, provided with the necessary knowledge to enable them to engage in political work, decision-making and development of citizenship. In addition, they participate in interactive debate sessions that enhance the basic principles of democracy, human rights, political parties, elections and the role of the media.
In a press release, a spokesman from the foundation stated that during the past three years, "I participate" program has trained more than 17 thousand participants from various participating universities.
