Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has qualified for the global Collegiate Penetration Testing Competition (CPTC) finals in New York, USA, scheduled for January 2025. This qualification follows PSUT’s first-place win in the regional qualifiers for the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, where 20 teams from 20 universities competed, with only 8 advancing to the regional stage.
The PSUT team comprises Saleh Al-Hunaidi, Hamza Noor, Basil Tahboub, Yousef Nahya, Ziad Al-Shareef, Dina Qawaqzeh, Ahmad Obeidat, and Fawaz Al-Khalidi, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Ababneh, Head of the Cybersecurity Department.
The President of the University, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, expressed her pride in the university’s students and professors, highlighting their exceptional skills and deep knowledge in cybersecurity and related areas.
Abu Elhaija also praised the team’s collaboration with professors from both the King Hussein School of Computing Sciences and King Abdullah II School of Engineering, and extended her best wishes for securing first place, just as PSUT did in last year’s global CPTC competition, where the university was the only non-U.S. team. In that competition, Stanford University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst taking second and third places, respectively.
