The Economic Community Club at Princess Sumaya University for Technology hosted a dialogue session titled “The Jordanian Digital Economy and Entrepreneurial Landscape.” The session included His Excellency Ahmad Hanandeh, former Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Mr. Amjad Sweis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Information and Communications Technology Association (int@j), and Mr. Jawad Abbasi, representative of the International Telecommunications Union in the Middle East and Africa.
Moderated by student Alanoud Al-Salem, the discussion focused on technological advancements in communications and the potential impact of fifth-generation technology on Jordan”s economy.
The session was attended by Dr. George Sammour, Dean of King Talal School of Business Technology, Dr. Rami Salem, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ramzi Radaideh, Vice-Dean of Student Affairs, professors from the engineering and business schools, and many students and guests.
Dr. Salem highlighted that the Deanship, under university leadership, supports extracurricular activities to enhance student skills and prepare them for the job market.
Sanad Sakakini, head of the club, explained that the club aims to involve youth in economic discussions, aligned with His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision for economic modernization.
University president Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija met with participants, emphasizing the importance of collaborating with the economic sector to develop students' skills for both local and global markets, particularly in economics and technology, in response to the rapid digital changes.
The students actively engaged by asking questions and viewed the session as a valuable learning platform that connected academics with practical application, offering insights into economic changes in the digital era.
