PSUT Rates Highly on The Graduate Employability Scale

Mar 23, 2022

Princess Sumaya University for Technology scored 3.8 out of 4 points in the program to measure the employability of Jordanian university graduates, conducted by the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

According to a report issued by the Foundation, the assessment, which is based on criteria of how far the educational process is keeping pace with the latest developments in the labor market, aims to help universities conduct self-reviews of the extent to which they apply processes and practices that would raise the employability of their graduates. The report also showed that the overall average of Jordanian universities on this scale was 2.6 points.

Commenting on this result, PSUT’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, indicated that the University’s achievement is fully expected and tangible in reality, as the rate of employment for PSUT graduates during the first six months after their graduation stands at 93%, and that PSUT graduates have become a focus of attention for major local, Arab and international companies because of the capabilities and skills they have to offer.

Prof. Al-Refai added that the University keeps pace, in its specializations and programs, with the requirements of the labor market and its rapid developments, and adopts a strategic plan of continuous review. It also concentrates on preparing its students for a strong and smooth transition into the local and global labor market. Al-Refai also revealed that the University has advisory boards that select its members from industry experts, company managers, and those who monitor changes to the map of professions in demand.

The International Education Magazine, a few days ago, listed PSUT’s King Talal School of Business Technology among the list of the top 10 business colleges in Asia and the Pacific region for the year 2022, following a survey it conducted of the opinions of graduates and employers in terms of students' readiness to engage in the labor market and the knowledge and skills they obtain that help them compete for jobs.
