Three teams from Princess Sumaya University for Technology won the second round of the Financial Technology Hackathon (Ahli FinTech Hackathon) which was organized by Al-Ahli Financial Technology Company in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation, and with the wide participation of twelve Jordanian universities.
The winning teams ranked first, second and ninth among the first ten places that qualified for the final rounds. Notably, PSUT participated with four teams out of 39 teams from various Jordanian universities.
The President of the University, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, congratulated the winning teams for their honorable results, wishing them more excellence and advancement through their distinguished participation in competitions that support their academic career, develop the spirit of competitiveness and teamwork, and keep them updated with the latest developments in the practical aspects of financial technology disciplines.
Dean of the King Talal School of Business Technology, Dr. George Sammour, said that this competition provides students with an opportunity to present and develop their creative ideas in the field of financial technology, by attracting investments that contribute to funding and establishing startups. In addition, the winning teams can obtain free participation in the Ahli Fintech accelerator which is an incubator for entrepreneurial projects that enhance and accelerate their growth.
The team that won the first place was made up of Muhammad Abu Arida, Lafi Odeh, and Muhammad Maani, while the second-place winning team included Ola Ruqeibat, Qamar Al-Sheikh, and Muhammad Abdelnabi. Sarah Ismail, Raneem Abu Sway, and Laura Akroush were in the third-place winning team.
