Lydia Al-Safadi, a student at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), majoring in Network Security/ King Abdullah II School of Engineering, won the silver medal for the under-24-year category in the West Asian Triathlon Championship, in her participation with the national team in the competition held in the Saudi city of Khubar under the supervision of the Saudi Federation for triathlon.
The Acting President of PSUT, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, congratulated Al-Safadi for this distinguished achievement, stressing that the university spares no effort to support students in their extracurricular sporting, artistic and cultural activities, which achieves the directives of HR Princess Sumaya bint ElHassan, Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees, in supporting extracurricular activities that refine students' skills, stimulate their spirit of competition, and develop their talents.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Rami Salem, also congratulated Al-Safadi for such a talent, pointing out that this athletic achievement adds to PSUT’s achievement record. Dr. Salem added that Al-Safadi's winning is a complement to other sporting achievements of the deanship’s extracurricular activities. He also commended the awareness of the students and their keenness to always show PSUT as a distinguished university in all sports.
It is noteworthy that Al-Safadi also won the gold medal in the second summer open swimming championship/ 2022.
