Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, congratulated the university’s teams for winning first place in the Fourth National Sumo Robots Contest for the second year in a row, as well as winning the gold medal in the 2025 Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest (JCPC).
Her Highness expressed her pride in the students, faculty, and trainers, noting that their achievements show the strong educational environment at the university, which since its founding has focused on technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. She stressed that science and technology must always go hand in hand. Science without technology may remain only an idea, and technology without knowledge may become blind. But together, they can transform the lives of individuals, communities, and nations.
Since 2012, Princess Sumaya has supported programming competitions by providing the resources needed to ensure their success and good organization. This support includes equipping laboratories with the necessary technical tools, ensuring the availability of modern equipment, and providing full logistical and technical assistance to the participating teams. The university has also worked to ensure the smooth running of competitions. PSUT has consistently achieved top results in programming competitions and has also helped train teams from other universities, raising the level of competition and enhancing programming skills among participants.
It is worth noting that the Single Face team, consisting of students Yousef Jarbou, Omar Tubasi, and Anas Eraikat, won first place in the Fourth National Sumo Robots Contest, organized by Al Hussein Technical University and featuring more than 230 teams from across Jordan. The Tops team also received second place for Best Programming, awarded to students Laith Tani, Tayseer Shunnar, and Yousef Fayoumi.
Moreover, in the 2025 JCPC contest, the university's AAA team, consisting of students Sami Al Majali, Abdullah Barakat, and Abdulaziz Amora, and supervised by Mohammad Kilani, won the gold medal and second place. The competition was hosted by the Applied Science Private University under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, and organized by the Faculty of Information Technology and the Association of Jordanian Programmers. A total of 101 teams from public and private universities across Jordan took part in the contest.
