President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, and Prof. Mashhour Al-Rifai, Secretary General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the National Fund for Enterprise Support (NAFES), signed a memorandum of understanding to support the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition 2024 training camp and strengthen cooperation in entrepreneurship and innovation.
Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized that the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, established at the university, has been dedicated to enhancing the personal capacities of students, researchers, and entrepreneurs through consultations, guidance, and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit, while also contributing to community service.
Prof. Al-Rifai highlighted that the NAFES Fund, under the Higher Council for Science and Technology, focuses on aiding small and medium-sized enterprises by providing financial support for management development projects and supporting entrepreneurial ideas. He noted that these efforts align with national initiatives to enhance the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in Jordan's economic development.
The training camp focuses on key areas including the Internet of Things (IoT), companies registered for less than a year, as well as individuals with entrepreneurial ideas and unregistered projects that have a business model or plan.
The MoU signing was attended by the University’s Vice President, Prof. Bassam Hammo; Dr. Ammar Odeh, Director of the Consultation and Training Center at PSUT; Mohammad Obeidat, Director of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship; and Nisreen Abu Anza, Manager of the NAFES Fund.
