Dr. Yazan Al-Issa

Associate professor

Dr. Yazan M. Al-Issa is an experienced Data Scientist and a Visiting Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at Princess Sumaya University of Technology (PSUT) in Amman, Jordan. He also serves as an Associate Professor at Yarmouk University (YU) in Irbid, Jordan, where he was Chair of the Computer Engineering Department from 2018 to 2020. Dr. Al-Issa holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering from UAE University (1996), a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University (1999), and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Clarkson University (2012). He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clarkson University in 2014, where his research was supervised by Professor Stephanie Schuckers, an IEEE Fellow known for her contributions to the field of biometrics and signal processing. His research interests lie in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), medical imaging, and pattern recognition. Dr. Al-Issa has authored 12 articles published in high-impact journals. In addition to his academic work, he has valuable industry experience, including collaborating with Intel Corporation on the development of next-generation microprocessors. Dr. Al-Issa is a Senior Member of IEEE and a lifetime member of the Eta Kappa Nu and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies.
