QRCE Event
The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, in strategic partnership with Zain Jordan, represented by its innovation platform ZINC, has started receiving applications for participation in the Entrepreneurship World Cup 2022 for startups. The event is organized by the Global Entrepreneurship Network and involves more than 370,000 entrepreneurs from 200 countries.
The competition’s prize money is valued at one million dollars, to be divided among 100 entrepreneurs around the world. In addition to cash, the winners are given help to take their companies to the next level through training, world-class resources, increasing their visibility, and connecting them with mentors and investors.
Companies that apply for the award will be eligible for more than $25,000 in perks, and the top 100 teams will receive in-kind services from partners such as AWS, Freshworks, Google Cloud, Hubspot, Stripe, and Zoom.
PSUT’s President, Prof. Mashhoor Al-Refai, expressed his pleasure that the Center forms a vital bridge for start-up companies to participate in this important competition, praising the big role played by the QRCE in strengthening the culture of entrepreneurship and supporting entrepreneurs.
Al-Refai added that PSUT, under the guidance of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chair of its Board of Trustees, attaches the utmost importance to the culture of entrepreneurship, and provides every support and care for the Center to play this important role at the local and global levels.
The Executive Director of the QRCE, Mohammad Obeidat, said that the EWC is a major entrepreneurial competition which gives an opportunity for Jordanian companies to compete and get to know corporate support institutions around the world. It also aims to enhance and highlight the culture of entrepreneurship in Jordan, and provides the opportunity for all projects from around the world to participate and compete for the title.
The Executive Director of corporate communication, innovation, and sustainability at Zain Jordan, Tareq Bitar, expressed his happiness with the strategic partnership that brings the Zain Innovation Platform (ZINC) together with the QRCE to organize the qualifying rounds of the Entrepreneurship World Cup in Jordan. The platform provides the opportunity for Jordanian startups and distinguished entrepreneurs to participate in the most important entrepreneurial initiatives in the world, enabling them to develop and expand their businesses and projects by communicating with a network of mentors and investors at the local and global levels.
Notably, the QRCE has held the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week for 13 consecutive years.
