
President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, met with a delegation from the University of Arizona, USA, led by Assistant Vice President Dr. Hassan Hijazi, during his visit to the university. They discussed ways to strengthen academic cooperation, particularly in the joint master's program in engineering management, and explored opportunities for collaboration in scientific research.
Prof. Abu Elhaija emphasized that this partnership represents a global model of academic cooperation, enriching students’ scientific and research experiences and broadening their prospects in engineering and management according to the latest international standards. She noted that this collaboration aligns with the directives of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, to enhance the university’s position as a global academic institution.
Dr. Hijazi praised Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s efforts in fostering global academic cooperation, noting that the partnership offers valuable academic and research opportunities for students in line with rapid technological advancements.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the King Abdullah I School of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Osama Badarneh, the Dean of the King Abdullah II School of Engineering, Dr. Osama Abu Sharkh, and other university officials. From the University of Arizona, the Head of the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering, Dr. Ricardo Valerdi, and Program Coordinator Stacey Fox also attended.
The visiting delegation met with students enrolled in the Master of Engineering Management program to discuss its academic and practical aspects and explore ways to enrich their educational experience.
The program provides students with the opportunity to earn two separate master’s degrees accredited by both universities, boosting their academic qualifications and better preparing them for the global job market.
