Princess Sumaya University for Technology has launched the 15th Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC 2025). The competition is organized in partnership with the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) at the university and iPark at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS).
This year's edition is the third to be held under the Orange Corners program, supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Jordan, and in strategic partnership with Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC). Orange Corners Jordan aims to support young Jordanian entrepreneurs who have moved past the idea stage. The incubation program provides business development support, capacity building, networking opportunities, training, and mentorship, all aimed at strengthening Jordan’s startup ecosystem.
University President Prof. Wejdan Abu Elhaija stated that the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC), organized annually by QRCE across all governorates, focuses on technology projects. This year's competition invites participants to present innovative ideas and projects designed to develop their entrepreneurial skills and help them refine their business plans.
Abu Elhaija also noted that HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, continues to support initiatives that foster entrepreneurship and innovation among young people.
Mr. Mohammad Obaidat, Director of QRCE, explained that the competition targets unregistered projects with a business model or plan, as well as startups under one year old. Finalists will receive full incubation services to help grow their companies, along with financial support for the winners.
Eng. Serene Duwayri, Director of Incubation at iPARK, highlighted the importance of supporting entrepreneurship to strengthen the national economy and create opportunities for Jordanian youth. She added that iPARK’s participation for the third year in a row shows their commitment to empowering entrepreneurs.
Tareq Bitar, Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at Zain Jordan, emphasized that the ongoing strategic partnership between Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC) and QRCE reflects Zain’s commitment to supporting Jordan’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and promoting a culture of innovation among young people.
