Dr. Mohammad Abdel-Majeed is an Associate Professor in the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Jordan (UJ), where he has served since June 2016. He earned his PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2016, following an MS in 2010, and a BS in Computer Engineering from UJ in 2007. His research focuses on the design of artificial intelligence–based systems, with applications in healthcare and natural language processing. At UJ, Dr. Abdel-Majeed served as Vice Chair of the University Requirements Coordination Office (2021) and later as Chair of the Computer Engineering Department (2021–2023). He has contributed extensively to the global research community, serving on the organizing and program committees of major IEEE conferences, including IPDPS 2019, JEEIT 2019, ICCD 2022, and ICCD 2024. In addition, he reviewed for leading IEEE journals such as TVLSI, TPDS, TCAS, and IEEE Transactions on Reliability, and has participated as a judge in various local and regional student competitions. He has also been involved in multiple international collaborative projects with European partners, including DECAIR, Smart.Eco, and Data-Literacy. Within IEEE, Dr. Abdel-Majeed currently serves as Chair of the IEEE Joint CS and CIS Jordan Chapter (since August 2024) and has been Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch at UJ since 2017. Under his mentorship, the branch earned the IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award for three consecutive years (2020–2022). In recognition of his leadership and contributions, he received the IEEE Outstanding Branch Counselor and Branch Chapter Advisor Award in 2022.
