Saud Althunibat received the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Trento, Trento, Italy, in 2014. In August 2025, he joined the Department of Communications Engineering/Internet of Things at Princess Sumaya University for Technology as a Professor in wireless communications. Previously he worked for University of Trento (Italy), Al-Hussein Bin Talal University (Jordan) and Texas A&M University in Qatar (Qatar). His research interests include a wide range of wireless communication topics such as index modulation, physical-layer security, multiple access techniques, spectrum sharing, cognitive radio, wireless sensor networks, energy efficiency, and resource allocation. He has authored more than 180 scientific papers. He is the General CoChair of BROADNETs conference in 2018. He was the recipient of the Best Paper Awards in IEEE CAMAD 2012, IEEE Globecom 2022 and ICCSPA 2024, and was selected as Exemplary Reviewer for the IEEE Communication Letters in 2013. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Researcher Award granted by Hamdi Mango Center - The University of Jordan in 2022. He served as an editor and reviewer in many high -level journals and conferences. He has been able to get more than $2M fund for scientific research from international and local funders such as EU Erasmus-Plus and NATO-SPS.
